PROCESSES
ETCHED
Designs are permanently etched onto glass items using a stencil and a preparation of hydrofluoric acid.
The result is a satin frosted finish to the work that is dishwasher safe.
We use the acid etch method on glassware at bayou view studio so as to not “carve” the surface and reduce the integrity of the glass (that is, weaken and make easier to crack.)
DECALED
Decals are constructed from a permanent outdoor vinyl material. Rated for 7 years of wear and tear, detailed cuts of vinyl can become less permanent than we like so, we coat the design with a clear dishwasher safe sealant.
And, while rated dishwasher safe we recommend hand washing ONLY.
Need just one? No problem.
Vinyl decals, while not as permanent as screen printing, allow us eliminate minimum orders and expensive set-up fees.
HAND PAINTED
Hand painted items are each a unique work of art. While very similar, no two will even be alike.
Specially formulated enamel paints are used then heat cured for several hours to insure increased durability.
Hand painted items can be HAND WASHED ONLY! These pieces should never be allowed to soak for extended periods of time either.
